Uzbekistan Introduces Restrictions Due to Heatwave

Because of abnormal heat, Uzbekistan has imposed temporary restrictions in education, transport, energy, and labor sectors. In several regions, kindergartens have been temporarily closed, school events and summer projects suspended. Heavy truck traffic has been restricted in Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya. On above‑ground lines of the Tashkent metro, train speeds have been reduced due to overheated rails. Electricity consumption has reached record levels, with the energy system operating under reinforced conditions. The State Labor Inspectorate advised employers to reduce heavy outdoor work between 11:00 and 16:00. Measures have also been intensified to water trees, sprinkle streets, and keep fountains running continuously.
