Uzbekistan has surpassed CIS countries in internet speed.

Uzbekistan has ranked first among CIS countries for fixed internet speed in the Speedtest Global Index. The Ministry of Digital Technologies announced this development.
In August, the country's average fixed internet download speed rose from 94.23 Mbps to 94.50 Mbps. Consequently, Uzbekistan climbed from 76th to 73rd place in the global rankings.
Mobile internet speeds also increased, with the average download speed rising from 62.42 Mbps to 65.27 Mbps in August. In this category, Uzbekistan moved up from 75th to 72nd place globally.
Since the beginning of the year, mobile internet speeds have increased by 27%. According to the ministry, Uzbekistan has risen 65 places in the global mobile internet speed rankings over the past five years.
At the same time, plans are underway to improve internet infrastructure in schools. By 2030, the country aims to establish free Wi-Fi zones in schools, increase internet speeds, and modernize 16,000 computer classrooms.
