Following the talks in Samarkand, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and French President Emmanuel Macron adopted a joint statement.
The document notes the intention of the two countries to raise relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The assessment of the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for deepening interstate relations in various spheres was given, the desire of the parties to deepen cooperation within the framework of international organizations, joint solution of urgent global and regional problems was confirmed.
In the presence of the Presidents, 8 bilateral documents on finance, education, culture and other areas of bilateral cooperation were signed. Including:
Intergovernmental Agreement on the establishment and activities of the Samarkand French Alliance;
Intergovernmental Financial Protocols on improving drinking water supply infrastructure in Uzbekistan (stages 1 and 2);
Protocol on amendments and additions to the intergovernmental agreement on the establishment and activities of the French Development Agency and PROPARCO in Uzbekistan;
declaration on cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the field of diplomatic training;
protocol on cooperation in the field of preschool, school, vocational and higher education;
declaration on cooperation in the field of cultural heritage;
agreement on cooperation in the field of vocational and technical education.
Also during the visit, declarations on cooperation between the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan and SUEZ and Bouygues companies were signed.
