Uzbekistan and the United States launch investment platform

During his visit to Washington, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, the US Export-Import Bank, and the leadership of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The talks discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, supporting priority projects, and launching an investment platform. It was noted that the trade volume between the two countries exceeds $1 billion, and about 340 US companies operate in Uzbekistan.

Agreements were reached with Eximbank on financing large industrial and infrastructure projects and expanding the supply of high-tech equipment. Plans to strengthen investment cooperation with the IFC were reviewed.

At the end of the visit, an agreement was exchanged between Uzbekistan and the United States on the establishment of an investment platform.
