Uzbekistan and Serbia Sign Declaration on Establishing Strategic Partnership

Following talks in Belgrade between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, a joint declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations between the two countries was signed.
During the meeting, the parties reached a number of agreements in areas such as labor migration, international road transport, inter-regional cooperation, agriculture and water management, customs, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and culture.
Uzbekistan and Serbia also agreed to establish a working group to initiate negotiations on a free trade agreement. Plans were also made to develop cooperation in the fields of railway infrastructure, "green" technologies, digitalization, e-government, information and communication technologies, and environmental protection.
The parties signed documents regarding the joint production of films, the development of cultural cooperation for 2026–2028, and support for the Middle Corridor.
Additionally, an agreement was signed to establish partnership relations between the Samarkand region and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Serbia.
