Uzbekistan and India to Increase Trade Turnover to $5 Billion by 2030

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi held talks at the Kuksaroy Residence.

The meeting focused on taking the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level and expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation.

Key agreements:

🔹 Trade — to increase bilateral trade in goods to $5 billion by 2030.

🔹 Industry — to implement joint projects in energy, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, metallurgy, agriculture and other sectors.

🔹 Political cooperation — to strengthen the activities of parliaments, the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.

🔹 Interregional ties — to develop cooperation between Andijan and Gujarat, Fergana and Haryana, and Samarkand and Agra.

🔹 Cultural ties — to regularly hold cultural days, concerts, exhibitions and film festivals.

🔹 International cooperation — to continue mutual support within the UN, SCO, BRICS and other international organizations.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to develop specific “roadmaps” for implementing the agreements reached.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also awarded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi the “Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik” (“Friendship at the Highest Level”) Order of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
