Uzbekistan and Hong Kong to establish Business Council

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC). According to the memorandum, the Uzbekistan-Hong Kong Business Council will now be established. This council will serve to strengthen cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two sides, establish new business relations and promote joint investment projects.

It is noted that initial negotiations on cooperation began in March this year during the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to China Farhod Arziyev to the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Subsequently, a number of meetings and negotiations were held between the parties.

It was also noted that the visit of the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to Hong Kong in May also brought cooperation to a new level. The parties plan to further expand trade and economic relations by organizing business forums, B2B meetings, trade missions and experience-sharing events in the future.
