Uzbekistan and Hong Kong cooperation enters a new stage

Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Li Szyachao, Head of the Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. The meeting discussed issues of expanding trade, economic, investment and interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong. The head of the delegation conveyed Xi Jinping's sincere greetings and best wishes to the president.

The parties noted that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China has significantly strengthened in recent years. It was noted that in May, an intergovernmental commission meeting was held in Beijing, an interregional forum was held in Xi'an, and an economic forum and industrial exhibition were successfully held in Hong Kong. 

The negotiations identified "green" energy, agriculture, biotechnology, fintech, artificial intelligence, digital economy and innovative startups as priority areas. The meeting also reached an agreement on the introduction of a bilateral visa-free regime, the establishment of direct flights, and the establishment of a business council.
