Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan sign Treaty on Eternal Friendship

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the Treaty on Eternal Friendship. A decision was also adopted following the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.

Documents signed in the presence of the presidents:

➖ Agreement on cooperation in the field of pension provision;
➖ Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture;
➖ Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism;
➖ Program to increase bilateral trade turnover to $1 billion by 2030;
➖ Practical Action Plan to implement agreements reached in the fields of investment and trade;
➖ Cooperation program between the foreign ministries for 2027–2028;
➖ Cooperation program between the justice ministries for 2027–2028;
➖ Memorandum on cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of cynology;
➖ Protocols on establishing sister-city relations between Urgench and Khankendi, Bukhara and Lachin, and Urgench and Nakhchivan.

As part of the visit, the new campus of Nizami Ganjavi Pedagogical University was also inaugurated in New Tashkent. The presidents also launched work on the construction of an “Azerbaijan” Park in New Tashkent.
