Uzbekistan allows bank customers to withdraw up to $500 in cash without a passport
Starting from August 9, 2026, Uzbekistan introduced the option of obtaining up to $500 in cash foreign currency from banks without presenting a passport.
The decision was reportedly registered by the Ministry of Justice in May and was scheduled to take effect three months later. Under the new rules, banks are required to verify individuals using a biometric passport, ID card, or digital identification.
Previously, customers could withdraw up to $100 in cash from a bank without presenting an identity document.
