Uzbekistan Abolishes Environmental Fine for Old Cars
Uzbekistan has removed from the draft law the requirement for owners of cars older than 30 years to pay annual environmental compensation. Instead of mandatory measures, the government plans to introduce an incentive system for vehicle owners. Under the new proposal, old cars will be assessed at market value, and owners will receive vouchers that can be used as cash or as a down payment when purchasing a new car. The remaining amount can be paid in installments over 2 to 7 years without interest. The draft law has not yet reached its final form and is currently being revised based on suggestions from the public and experts.
