Uzbek Senate approves ban on e-cigarettes

The Senate of Uzbekistan has approved a law aimed at banning the circulation of e-cigarettes and nicotine delivery devices. According to the law, a fine of up to 75 million soums will be imposed for the illegal production, storage, import or sale of tobacco products and e-cigarettes. If the offense is repeated, the fine will increase to 225 million soums. In serious cases, a sentence of up to 12 years in prison will be imposed. These measures were adopted taking into account the growing interest in e-cigarettes among young people and adolescents.
