Uzbek entrepreneurs can now open businesses in the United States

Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva met with a business delegation from Utah led by David Bednar.

During the meeting, it was noted that Uzbekistan–US relations have entered a new stage, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decision to introduce a visa-free regime for US citizens was recognized as an important step toward expanding business and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

One of the most notable announcements was that Uzbekistan residents can now establish companies in the United States.

Saida Mirziyoyeva stated:

“According to the President’s decree, the American–Uzbek Business and Investment Council will be established. To coordinate its work, a new position of Counselor–Envoy will be introduced at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the US. Furthermore, Uzbek residents will be able to freely transfer funds from their bank accounts to the US to open companies, participate in their capital, or finance their branches.”

This decision is seen as a major step to boost foreign economic activity, strengthen investment cooperation, and enhance Uzbekistan’s image as an open and modern economy.

As per the Presidential decree of November 12, the American–Uzbek Business and Investment Council will be formed, co-chaired by Saida Mirziyoyeva from Uzbekistan and a representative of the US President.

The initiative was agreed upon during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to the US (November 4–6) and the “C5+1” summit.
