The “Days of Uzbek Culture” were held in Russia. The events, organized on October 4–5, aimed to showcase Uzbekistan’s art and culture to the Russian public and further develop cultural ties between the two countries.

During the two-day programme, the sides discussed cooperation in the fields of culture and the arts and reached agreements on new joint projects. Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov met with Uzbek young people studying in Russia, as well as compatriots working in various fields.

As part of the Days of Culture, a meeting was also held between the Ministers of Culture of Uzbekistan and Russia, Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Olga Lyubimova. The meeting focused on the prospects for cultural cooperation between the two countries, exchanges between creative groups and the expansion of joint projects.

One of the key outcomes of the event was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan, the Creative Association of Dance Arts of Uzbekistan and the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

The main event of the Days of Culture was held at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. The gala concert “The Light of New Uzbekistan”, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence, brought together traditional and contemporary forms of Uzbek art on one stage.

The concert programme featured maqom, national music, opera, pop music and choreographic performances. The event featured the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, the Yunus Rajabi Maqom Ensemble, the Mukarrama Turgunbayeva “Bahor” State Dance Ensemble, students of the State Institute of National Musical Art of Uzbekistan, and renowned artists.

A photo exhibition was also organized as part of the event, showcasing Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage as well as achievements in contemporary art.

The third edition of the “Days of Uzbek Culture” in Russia demonstrates the continued development of cultural ties between the two countries. Such events are important not only for promoting Uzbekistan’s national art abroad, but also for creating new opportunities for cooperation among artists and cultural professionals.
