Uzbek Citizens to Be Employed in Saudi Arabia

Citizens of Uzbekistan will be sent to Saudi Arabia for employment in the fields of healthcare, construction, tourism, and engineering. This was reported by the Migration Agency.

According to the report, a delegation consisting of representatives from the Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and the country's embassy in Saudi Arabia held a series of meetings in the Kingdom to discuss issues related to the legal and systematic employment of Uzbek citizens.

In particular, during a meeting with Ahmad Al-Sharqi, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia, the parties discussed the new labor market strategy, mechanisms for attracting foreign labor, and a system for issuing work visas based on qualification levels.

Additionally, issues were considered regarding the launch of targeted education and vocational training programs in cooperation with the KDOT recruiting organization and major employers in professions with high demand.

Following the meetings, it was agreed to establish a joint working group between the Migration Agency and the Ministry of Labor of Saudi Arabia. Plans are also underway to develop a mechanism for training specialists in Uzbekistan based on international standards, introducing qualification exams, and ensuring systematic employment of citizens.

It is worth recalling that in December 2025, a new cooperation agreement on labor migration was signed between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia. This document was concluded in cooperation with Health Resources Company and provides Uzbek mid-level medical workers with legal and safe employment in Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the Saudi side has expressed its intention to attract at least 20,000 workers from Uzbekistan. Earlier, it was also reported that an agreement had been reached to employ Uzbek citizens in the agricultural sector of the United States under the “H-2A” program.
