Uzbek and Kyrgyz citizens will be allowed to stay without registration for up to 15 days
Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed a protocol exempting citizens of both countries from mandatory registration for the first 15 days after crossing the border.
The document supplements the 2006 Agreement on Mutual Travel of Citizens. Under the new rules, citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will be able to stay in the host country for up to 15 days without temporary or permanent registration.
Previously, Uzbek citizens were required to register with Kyrgyzstan’s internal affairs authorities within five days of entering the country. The new protocol extends this period to 15 days.
