The US will launch a paid visa interview service for tourist and business (B1/B2) visas starting July 1, 2026.
Under the new rules, applicants will be able to schedule an interview within 10 business days for an additional $750 fee in addition to the standard visa fee. The pilot program will run until December 31, 2026, and will only be available at select embassies and consulates.
The US State Department stressed that the fee does not guarantee a visa, but only speeds up the interview process. The new service is aimed at reducing long lines in countries with high demand for visas.
