US imposes 10% tariff on Uzbekistan
US President Donald Trump on April 2 imposed tariffs on products from 185 countries, including Uzbekistan (10%).
In addition to the 34% tariff imposed on China, an additional 20% tariff will be imposed for the country's participation in the production of fentanyl. The European Union — 20%, Japan — 24%, South Korea — 25%, etc. The previously announced 25% tariff for Canada and Mexico has been postponed. The US tariff policy towards Mexico and Canada is mainly aimed at stopping illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
Trump also plans to impose separate tariffs on products such as cars, pharmaceuticals, lumber, copper and microchips.
The president said this is an important step towards "bringing wealth back to America."
