US asks Israel to stop attacking Iranian oil facilities
The US has asked Israel to stop attacking Iran's energy infrastructure, especially oil facilities. On March 7, Israeli aircraft attacked oil depots in Tehran and Karaj, which caused "black rain" in the capital.
The US Trump administration has given Israel three reasons for stopping such strikes:
1. The strike could harm Iranian citizens;
2. Iran wants to establish cooperation with the oil sector after the war;
3. The strike could lead to large-scale retaliatory attacks in the Persian Gulf countries.
The US considers an attack on Iranian oil facilities only as a last resort scenario, and new attacks could cause an increase in world commodity prices.
