Unprecedented snowstorm begins in the US

A powerful snowstorm called "Fern" has covered more than half of the country in the US. In some places, the snow cover exceeded 30 cm, and in New York, 35.5 cm of snow fell, setting the highest daily record since 1905.
The storm left more than 1 million people without power, more than 16,000 flights were canceled. Extreme weather warnings were issued for more than 200 million people. At least 14 people were reported dead. Meteorologists said that the cold and snow will continue in the coming days.
