The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan handed over three containerized oxygen plants to the country's Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, according to a press release from the organization.
The units are already being used at the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases of Turkmenistan and the International Traumatology Center in Ashgabat. Work is also underway to implement them in the Tejen city hospital in the Akhal region.
Known as the "Oxygen Plant in a Box", the plant is an innovative solution designed to produce large volumes of medical oxygen. It can be used within a few days after arrival at the facility.
The delivery includes the necessary equipment for installation, installation and maintenance services, as well as initial training of personnel to operate the "factory".
Access to oxygen can save lives in emergencies and is also an important treatment for children with pneumonia and other acute respiratory infections.
