UNESCO to celebrate Tavakkal Kadyrov's 100th anniversary internationally

UNESCO has included the 100th anniversary of Tavakkal Kadyrov's birth in the list of international anniversaries to be celebrated in 2026–2027.
This proposal, put forward by Uzbekistan, was approved at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand with the support of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.

UNESCO's decision is a high international assessment of Tavakkal Kadyrov's great contribution to the development of music and singing, as well as his services in promoting the goals and objectives of UNESCO through these areas.

Tavakkal Kadyrov was a prominent figure in Uzbek singing, a person of unique talent. He was born on June 10, 1926 in the Kuva district of the Fergana region. In 1989, he was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Uzbekistan". He led the Fergana State Philharmonic for many years. During his creative career, Hafiz created more than a hundred songs, which entered the golden fund of Uzbek art. He also performed songs in Iranian, Indian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Uyghur and Arabic languages.
