The UN in Turkmenistan has joined the global rallying campaign in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The campaign encourages citizens to take action to achieve the SDGs through the UN's "Act Now" initiative. The platform includes steps to accelerate progress towards the SDGs and create a better life for a healthier planet for all.
In turn, a separate group of individuals will unite their communities on social networks to take individual actions towards achieving the SDGs.
The campaign was launched on the eve of the UN Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals. It will be convened on 18 and 19 September 2023 to mark the start of a new phase of accelerated progress towards the SDGs.
The event will bring global leaders together at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to reaffirm their collective commitment to the goals and pledge to leave no one behind.
“We want to involve everyone in the achievement of the SDGs,” said Nanette Brown, head of campaigns for the UN Department of Global Communications.
