Military bases in Syria and Iraq of the United States and the international coalition fighting the Islamic State terrorist group have been attacked 13 times in the past week, Pentagon spokesman General Pat Ryder said on Tuesday, October 24. Between October 17 and October 24, soldiers were hit by missiles and drones at least 10 times in Iraq and three times in Syria, he said.
According to the general, the "Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and groups receiving support from the Iranian regime" are behind the attacks. A group in Iraq claimed responsibility for some of the attacks and posted related messages on the Telegram messenger.
