Two Uzbek citizens working in construction in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, fell from the 7th floor. The incident occurred on May 8 at the construction site of a multi-storey building in the city of Ulan-Ude.
It was reported that the tower crane operator carelessly damaged the construction site. The workers, who were not wearing seat belts, fell down. As a result, one of the citizens was hospitalized with serious injuries, and the other died.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk reported that the situation was under control and that work was underway to repatriate the body of the deceased. A criminal case has been initiated by Russian law enforcement agencies into the incident.
