Archaeologists have discovered 10 unique makeup tools, hair accessories and jewelry during excavations in the ancient city of Ayzanoy in the Turkish province of Kutahya. "Arkeonews" reported about it. The city of Ayzanoy is located in Western Anatolia, 48 km southwest of Kyutahya province. The city was discovered by European explorers in 1824 and explored in the 1830s and 1840s. Scientific excavations in Ayzanoy began in 1926 on the order of the German Archaeological Institute. Dumlupinar University is currently conducting excavations. Ayzanoy is one of the most important cities of the Roman period. The temple of Zeus, the stadium-theater complex and the market are still preserved. "The excavations were carried out in cooperation with the administration of Kyutahya province and Dumlupinar University," said Gekkhan Joshkun, professor of Dumlupinar University. In the market square of the ancient city, archaeologists found the remains of a cosmetics and jewelry store with a history of more than 2000 years. According to experts, perfumery, jewelry and cosmetic products were sold here. Ancient perfume bottles, jewelry and cosmetics prove this. It is known that the ancient Romans kept medicines in seashells, and we found many seashells among the fossils," said Joshkun.
