Two circumcised boys die in Samarkand

Two boys, aged 5 and 2, died after a circumcision procedure in the Ishtikhon district of the Samarkand region. A criminal case has been opened against medical workers in connection with the incident. This was reported by Hayot Shamsutdinov, head of the information service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

It is reported that both boys were brought to the district medical association in good health. However, it is said that medical procedures were grossly violated during the circumcision procedure. It is planned to conduct a confrontation, examination and other procedural actions as part of the investigation.

5-year-old Elkhan Tursunov was circumcised on March 22. A day later, the child's condition worsened and bleeding began from the operation site. When his parents contacted doctors, they were initially told that the child's condition was not serious. Later, the child's fever rose and his condition worsened. He was taken to the intensive care unit, but doctors were unable to save his life.

On April 3, 2-year-old Hamidjon Tokhtayev also began to feel unwell after being circumcised at the same medical facility. The child had allergies and a high temperature. His mother said that the child had not eaten for several days and his condition had worsened. He died in hospital on April 8.

According to doctors, children should have undergone a full medical examination before the circumcision procedure. However, it was found that the two children who died did not undergo the necessary examinations beforehand.

The investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
