The representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Mohammad Fayyazi, said that the election of Turkmenistan as a member of the Executive Board of the organization will allow the country to promote children's rights at the global level, including on the issue of immunization.

He stated this in an interview with the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" on the occasion of the country's election as a member of the Council for 2024-2026.

"Turkmenistan can set an example and resolutely promote issues such as immunization, climate change, where, as we know, the country has made great strides. This will give a new impetus to the already close cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF in the name of children's well-being," Fayazi said.

Also, the official from UNICEF noted that membership in the council is a major achievement of Turkmenistan, which is associated with great responsibility, since the country will be directly involved in the development of the agenda and changing the lives of children around the world.

In addition, Turkmenistan will be involved in the review and approval of UNICEF activities, policies, country programmes and budgets.
