Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting of the Asian Union of the Blind in Tashkent

The Turkmen delegation took part in the regular meeting of the Asian Union of the Blind in Tashkent. This is reported by the National News Agency of Uzbekistan.
Along with representatives from Turkmenistan, the meeting brought together over 60 delegates from over 20 countries.
“The main goal of the event is to create jobs for the blind, inform about new technologies, provide conditions for them to play sports, discuss issues of protecting their rights,” Ergash Norpulatov, Chairman of the Society of the Blind of Uzbekistan, said in his speech.
The meeting also summed up the work of the Union for a five-year period. In addition, the participants elected a new head of the organization.
The main mission of the Asian Union of the Blind is to protect the interests of the blind, provide them with social support, rehabilitation, integration into society, as well as guarantee equal rights and life opportunities.
