The Global Refugee Forum, which Turkmenistan will participate in, will be held in Geneva on December 13-15. On the eve of the event in Almaty, a preparatory Sub-regional round table will be held in the building of the UN Mission, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan says.
The Geneva forum is planned to be attended by high-level representatives of the line ministries of the Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan dealing with the issues of refugees and stateless persons.
On the agenda of the conference is the discussion of new commitments related to the implementation of the Global Compact on Refugees, which calls on the international community to step up efforts to support this category of people.
