Turkmenistan and WHO work to strengthen the capacity of the ambulance service

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry and the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan met with experts from the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO) and its Regional Office for Europe, the press service of the international structure reports.
At the meeting, held at the International Educational and Scientific Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry in a hybrid format, the parties considered issues of strengthening the capacity of emergency medical teams to respond to situations that may arise in the field of public health.
In particular, attention was focused on issues related to increasing the capacity of the national ambulance system, progress in the implementation of WHO recommendations, and the appointment of national coordinators for emergency medical care.
The possibilities of creating a national ambulance service qualified by WHO and turning the International and Educational Center in Ashgabat into a sub-regional training center for emergency medical care were also considered.
