Turkmen Wushu masters will go to the World Championships in the USA

The Turkmenistan Wushu Cup ended in Ashgabat, where medals were played in different weight categories and disciplines. The winners of the cup received the right to represent the country at the World Wushu Championship, which will be held in November in the USA, writes MIC.
About 150 athletes from all regions of the country took part in the national tournament, who competed in the sanda discipline - a full-fledged fight with an opponent.
According to the results of the Cup, first place in the team competition was taken by representatives of Ashgabat. The team from the Ahal region took second place. The top three were completed by athletes from the Lebap region.
The results of the tournament determined the 20 best athletes who will represent Turkmenistan at the World Wushu Championship in the USA. They will train under the guidance of experienced mentors and prepare to perform on the world stage.
Wushu is one of the most popular types of martial arts in Turkmenistan. The country has the Wushu Federation of Turkmenistan, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. Currently, almost 2,000 people practice wushu in Turkmenistan, who achieve success under the guidance of more than 40 experienced mentors.
