Employees of the Control Groups of the ports of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) and Alyat (Azerbaijan) took part in the training, which was aimed at minimizing the risks of using sea freight and strengthening practical interaction.
The training events were held within the framework of the Global Program of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the World Customs Organization (WCO) and organized by the UNODC Regional Office, the press service of the Turkmen customs reported.
WCO experts acted as mentors of the training. It took four days, two of which were spent in the Azerbaijani port of Alyat. The participants exchanged experience and analyzed documents on the exchange of goods and their inspection.
Economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in practical terms is carried out with the help of sea merchant fleets of the two countries, which transport goods from the port of Turkmenbashi to Alyat and back.
