Turkish student arrested in US for criticizing Israel

A Turkish doctoral student at Tufts University in Massachusetts, Rumeysa Öztürk, has had her visa revoked and she has been arrested for criticizing Israel. She wrote an article condemning Israel's attacks on Palestine and calling on the university to divest from companies affiliated with Israel. She was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Tuesday evening as she was leaving for an iftar with friends. Öztürk's lawyer has appealed to the court, arguing that the arrest was unlawful. The court has ordered Öztürk not to be taken out of the state for 48 hours.
