A 26-year-old Turkish man deceived a 41-year-old Uzbek woman with the promise of marriage and swindled her for $290,000. The woman told Turkish TV channel aTV about this in an interview.
It turned out that their relationship began in 2024 on an online dating site. The correspondence quickly turned into declarations of love and promises of marriage. The man introduced himself as 35 years old and began asking for money on the ninth day of their acquaintance. He claimed to be serious, talked about his plans to buy a house, and took money from the woman under the pretext of furniture and a house exchange. The woman initially transferred $3,500, and then $30,000. After the total amount of transfers reached about $290,000, contact with the man was cut off. A woman from Uzbekistan said she has not been able to get her money back for two years.
