Turkish Expert Berk Albayrak Appointed General Manager of the New Tashkent Airport Project

Turkish specialist Berk Albayrak has been appointed as the General Manager of the New Tashkent International Airport project. He will oversee construction processes, control the budget and schedule, and ensure coordination with international contractors.

Previously, Albayrak served as CEO of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and as Project Director of the New Kuwait Airport. He has over 30 years of professional experience. He graduated from METU University and worked on several major airport projects in Turkey.

The New Tashkent Airport will be built on a 1,300-hectare site by a consortium involving companies from Saudi Arabia, Japan, and South Korea. The total project cost is $5.5 billion. At the first stage, a passenger terminal and airfield will be constructed for $2.5 billion. Ultimately, the airport will be able to handle up to 20 million passengers and 129,000 tons of cargo per year, with up to 30 takeoffs and landings per hour.
