FGN-100-d1 was launched into space on SpaceX's Falcon 9 Transporter-12 mission. Footage of the successful Transporter-12 mission was broadcast live on SpaceX's X account. The satellite, owned by the Turkish company Baykar, is named after Ahmet Ferghani.
The Ferghani satellite's hydrogen peroxide space engine firing test was successfully conducted in May last year. Baykar CEO Selçuk Bayraktar said that they built Ferghani to build a global positioning system consisting of satellite constellations.
