Turkey discusses international gas trading platform with Gazprom

Turkey is negotiating with Gazprom to bring the Turkish gas trading platform to the international level, and expects to complete the work on its creation in 2024, the country's Energy Minister Alparlsan Bayraktar said.

According to him, the ultimate goal of Turkey is to create a competitive environment.

According to him, this initiative is a good incentive for traders.

"If we cooperate with our partners on this line, I think that we can complete the initiative in 2024," Bayraktar stressed.

The Turkish gas hub was first mentioned in October last year. Then-two weeks after the destruction of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 export gas pipelines at the bottom of the Baltic Sea-Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the lost volume of Russian gas transit could be moved to the Black Sea region.
