Trump wants to annex Venezuela to the US
Donald Trump said he is seriously considering making Venezuela the 51st state of the United States. This was reported by Fox News correspondent John Roberts.
Trump previously made humorous posts about Venezuela joining the United States during the World Baseball Classic tournament. Later, he took this idea more seriously. The Venezuelan side rejected this proposal. The country's interim leader Delcy Rodriguez said that he would not give up Venezuela's independence and sovereignty.
On May 8, the Trump administration withdrew its highly enriched uranium reserves from Venezuela. The US side called this process "a victory for America, Venezuela and the world."
