Trump said the US-Iranian military campaign is moving faster than planned and is almost over.
In an interview with CBS, Trump said that the operation was initially expected to last more than a month, but that it was progressing faster than expected. He said that Iran's military capabilities had been severely damaged and its missile stockpile had been greatly reduced.
Later, at a Republican Party event in Florida, Trump reiterated that the war could be "over very soon." He called the operation a "short-term military operation."
However, the Iranian military has expressed its readiness to expand the war, saying that Iran will determine when it ends.
Trump also said that the final decision on when to end the military operation will be made jointly with Israel.
