Trump portrayed Venezuela as the “51st state of the US”
US President Donald Trump shared a map of Venezuela colored with the American flag on his Truth Social platform. The image also included the phrase “51st state.”
Earlier, Trump said he was “seriously considering” the idea of incorporating Venezuela into the United States, citing the country’s massive oil reserves.
The Venezuelan government strongly rejected the statement, saying the country’s independence is not open for discussion.
