Trump offers asylum to Iranian women footballers who refused to sing national anthem

Five Iranian female footballers have sought political asylum in Australia, fearing they could face the death penalty if they return home. Trump has said the US is always open to them if Australia refuses to help. 

It is reported that Iranian female footballers refused to sing their national anthem at the opening ceremony of the Asian Cup in Australia on March 2. 
They also sang the anthem in the second match of the championship against Australia, and at the end expressed their dissatisfaction with the events taking place in their country by giving a military salute. 

Iranian state television condemned the action of the country's women's national team, calling them "war traitors" and demanding that Iran be punished. For example, the women's team's participation in the Asian Cup ended early after losing all of their matches. If they are found to be traitors, the punishment for this could be death (execution).
