Trump Invites Mirziyoyev to the Peace Council

U.S. President Donald Trump has invited President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to join the Middle East peace initiative as a founding member of the Peace Council. The Uzbek leader stated that he accepted the invitation and expressed his readiness to contribute to ensuring peace and stability in the region through the Council.

The initiative was announced in September 2025, supported by a United Nations Security Council resolution, and developed on the basis of a comprehensive plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.

The Executive Committee of the Peace Council includes Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Tony Blair. While the Council’s decisions are adopted by a majority vote, they are approved by Trump.
