Trump’s statement was prompted by the fact that current President Joe Biden commuted 37 death row inmates to life in prison. Trump said that this decision is unreasonable and will cause moral damage to the families of the victims.
Currently, the death penalty is allowed in 27 states in the United States, and at the federal level it can be used for more than 40 types of crimes.
