US President Donald Trump announced that he has temporarily extended the ceasefire with Iran. He said that this decision was made at the request of Pakistan and to continue negotiations.
At the same time, the US will maintain a blockade of Iranian ports and military forces will remain on high alert.
Iran, however, did not recognize this decision. Officials described the blockade as an act of war and said that it could be retaliated.
The negotiations between the parties are not yet completed and the situation remains tense.
