Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan reached more than $240 million

Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan increased their trade turnover to $242.7 million in the first six months of this year, the share of Turkmen exports in the trade balance exceeded $61.3 million. The relevant information follows from a report published by the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning of Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The total trade turnover of Kazakhstan with all countries of the world reached $67.2 billion, while the CIS states, which account for about $17.4 billion, remain one of the country's key trading partners. In total, the republic trades with 205 countries.
The main trade and economic partner of Astana is China, Russia is slightly behind it. Italy became the leader in trade with Kazakhstan among the EU member states, and Uzbekistan among neighbors in the Central Asian region.
Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, having a common border, are actively promoting bilateral economic relations. Last year, the growth rate of export-import operations between the countries exceeded a record 70%. Currently, Ashgabat and Astana are working to increase the transit of goods within the framework of international transport corridors.
