Tourist Boat Sinks in Thailand

On January 11, the high-speed tourist boat Korawich Marine 888 collided with a fishing trawler and sank near Phuket Island in Thailand. An 18-year-old Russian girl died in the accident.

There were 55 people on board: 33 Russians, 8 citizens of Kazakhstan, 3 from Uzbekistan, 2 from Kyrgyzstan, and the rest were citizens of Poland and the United Kingdom. Police in Phuket and Krabi are investigating the incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported that the injured Uzbek citizens have fully recovered and were discharged from hospital in accordance with established procedures.
