Tourism revenues in Tajikistan exceeded $250 million

Almost half a million tourists since the beginning of 2023 arrived from the CIS countries, of which more than half were citizens of Uzbekistan

The income of the tourism sector of Tajikistan in 2022 amounted to more than $250 million.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Tourism of the Republic Kamoliddin Muminzod.

According to him, each traveler who comes to the country spends about 200-250 dollars.

In addition, he noted that the number of foreign tourists increased by 34% in 6 months of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

In just six months, 628 thousand people visited Tajikistan.

According to the agency, more than 487 thousand of them came to the country for tourism purposes.

It is worth emphasizing that more than 453 thousand guests arrived from the CIS countries.

Most often, the border of Tajikistan was crossed by citizens of a neighboring country - more than 368 thousand people came from Uzbekistan.

Tajikistan is also popular with Russians. The top 5 also includes Kazakhstan, Türkiye and China.

As previously stated by the Statistical Agency, the republic is also popular among residents of neighboring countries that are not part of the post-Soviet blocs.
