Tom Holland reveals new details about Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day
Actor Tom Holland shared new insights about the upcoming Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day in an interview with GQ. He confirmed that additional scenes were recently filmed, even though the movie was already strong on its own. According to him, the creators simply decided to add a “cherry on top.”
“I can confidently say that what we’re doing isn’t necessary. The film is already good and unique on its own. We’re just adding a cherry on top in certain places,” said Tom Holland. “We’re looking for ways to add more humor, reworking the villain’s storyline, and including something genuinely fun.”
The premiere of Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day is scheduled for July 31. The story takes place four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world has forgotten Peter Parker, but a new threat forces him to return as Spider-Man.
The cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, as well as Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Jon Bernthal (Punisher).
Before Spider-Man, another project starring Tom Holland will be released — The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, with a premiere set for July 17. Holland called the film “an absolute masterpiece.”
“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” he said. “While watching it, I found myself asking a question I haven’t asked in a long time: ‘How did you do that?’”
He was especially impressed by Christopher Nolan’s use of practical effects. Some scenes he initially thought were CGI turned out to be filmed using real techniques.
“I think fans will be blown away by the sets and scenes, because even I, who was there, was amazed by the scale and storytelling,” he added.
