Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez reunite in a major new project

Seven years after the release of A Rainy Day in New York, Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez are set to work together again on a new project, according to Deadline. This time, however, in a slightly different format.

The stars will voice the lead characters in a new animated film titled Alone, Together. The story follows introverted mechanic Joe and talented astrobotanist Fran, who creates the world’s first rocket powered by plant-based fuel. The two join forces ahead of the rocket’s launch, but their plans are disrupted by three aliens trying to return home.

Notably, this project will mark Chalamet’s debut in feature-length animation. Gomez, on the other hand, is already experienced in voice acting — audiences know her well as Mavis from the Hotel Transylvania franchise. It is also not the first time the actors have worked together: they previously starred in the romantic comedy A Rainy Day in New York.

The film is directed by Éric Guillon, who also worked on the Despicable Me animated franchise. Alone, Together is scheduled to premiere on April 16, 2027.
